A vegetarian for 20 years now, I am often pitied. Most people are under the impression that vegetarians don’t get good food. No meat = no food. To be brutally honest, when I was a meat eater I too could not imagine anything worse than being a vegetarian.
But, some things are beyond our control and at age 17, I developed an aversion to eating meat. Was it fate? Or was it just that I’d OD-ed on meat. Whatever the reason, I am now a happy vegetarian out to proveΒ Β that vegetarians aren’t an unfortunate lot and that a head of cabbage can be as tasty as a slab of beef. Really.
By the way, with two friends (Marty Thyme and Blessed Glutz)Β I write a monthly food column for The Star, an English daily in Malaysia called Don’t Call Me Chef — you can find the links on my page.
Cheers and remember, don’t diss them veggies.

Wow, glad I stumbled upon this place. I’ve recently (like, a week) been thinking about cutting off meat to be more sustainable with my lifestyle.
